Team Kryptonite drubs Smooth Riders in WNBL

Contender team Kryptonite showed might as they drubbed Smooth Riders, 61-17 Wednesday night in the ongoing 2012 IP&E Women’s National Basketball League played at the Palau National gym.

Team Kryptonite shed little sweat as they showed their defensive prowess early in the game. They send a string message to other teams as they held Smooth Riders scoreless in the opening quarter and established a 16-0 lead.

As if that was not enough, team Kryptonite again held Smooth Riders to four points in the second as to their 20 markers to close the half with their biggest lead at 36-4. From there, team Kryptonite went on smoothly to win the game.

Tint Adelbai topscored for team Kryptonite with 16 points with teammate Jaime Ngirausui adding 11 while Sim Tellei finished with five points for Smooth Riders.

In other games, Smooth Riders won over Odesangel Islanders, 31-24; Money blasted Belias Underdawgs, 87-46 and Peched Reds bested Odesangel Islanders, 60-55.

Games will resume on Monday with Belias Underdawgs versus Smooth Riders at 6 p.m. while Peched Reds will meet team Kryptonite on May 1 at 7:30 p.m.
