KSG Royals beat Spiders in Rudimch Enterprise GBL

Koror State Government (KSG) Royals nailed their second straight victory at the expense of Ministry of Education (MOE) Spiders, 77-48 Friday night in the ongoing 2014 season of the Rudimch Enterprise Government/Business League at the Palau National gym.

The Royals meant business as they established a 15-8 lead in the first quarter, they continued to roll in the second frame despite being outscored by the Spiders via 18-16 to take a 31-26 advantage going into the half.

The Royals spurted a 24-14 run in the third to keep their distance with the Spiders and take on a 55-40 lead. From there, the Royals would have no competition as they sailed smoothly to their second win in the Government Division.

Gino Smau powered the Royals finishing 24 points while teammates Kaleb Meltel and Jarvis chipped in identical 12 markers, respectively. Joan Mikel, on the other hand, topscored for the Spiders with 15 as Dean Terry contributed 12 baskets on the losing end.

In other games, WCTC Powerball won over Mason’s Mercury, 88-78; and PPR Shark Attack defeated Island Rhythm, 120-117.

Games resume tonight with SDA Crusaders versus Neco at 6 p.m. followed by the Mason’s Mercury-PRR Dragons tussle at 7:30 p.m. while Yrang’s Salon will face Island Rhythm in the main game at 9 p.m.

Wednesday night matches will feature MOF Omsangel against President’s X-Men at 6 p.m. as KSG Royals will take on PPUC Electric Eel at 7:30 p.m. as Neco will test WCTC Powerball in the main game at 9 p.m.

Thursday night will feature SDA Crusaders taking on PPR Stingrayz at 6 p.m. followed by the PPR Shark Attack-Fish n’ Fins Hunters match at 7:30 p.m. while Mason’s Mercury will face Yrang’s Salon in the night cap at 9 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF) would like to extend their thanks to the supporters of the teams that are seeing action in the league. Those who should support to the teams include Koror State Government, Surangel and Sons Company, Fish n’ Fins, NECO Group, WCTC, Palau Pacific Resort, Franco’s and Company, Palau Royal Resort, Island Rhythm, Yrang’s Salon, Mason’s Hardware, Palau Visitors Authority, Palau Community College, Office of the President, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs, Palau Public Utilities Corporation.
