Men’s basketball takes win no. 2

Palau men’s basketball squad are showing that they are gold contenders having won two of their games in the ongoing 8th Micronesian Games held in Pohnpei.

The men’s team first beat CNMI, 91-64 and then went on to beat a hard fighting Chuuk squad, 62-60. They are 2-0 and are playing against the team from Nauru as of this writing.

The men’s squad is set to meet host Pohnpei tonight at 6 p.m. with the aim of taking a seat in the final four of the competitions.

In the distaff side, Palau drubbed Nauru, 75-32 before they bowed to their counterparts from Guam via 79-46.

They are still playing against the team from the Marshall Islands and will the team from CNMI today at 4 p.m. The ladies final assignment in the elimination round will be the team from Chuuk on Sunday at 12 p.m. By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
