Sam’s Kryptonite wins WNBL title

Team Sam’s Kryptonite showed their lethal form as they went on to beat team Money, 77-71 to win the 2013 Surangel and Sons Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) played Thursday night at the Palau National gym.

Leading 18-11 in the opening tip, Sam’s Kryptonite found themselves trailing at the end of the first half 35-36. Then Sam’s Kryptonite ignited a 24-17 run in the third to take a 59-53 advantage.

From there, Sam’s Kryptonite held on as they went to win the game and bring home the coveted championship title. Sarabeth Ksano led the scoring clutches for Sam’s Kryptonite with 15 points as Jaime Ngirausui added 11 while Jesslyn de Leon topscored for team Money with 23 as the series was closed at 2-1.

On the other hand, in a tune up match held Friday, Team Palau won over the WNBL selection, 81-30.

A total of six teams are seeing action in the tournament namely Odasangel Islanders, Kryptonite, Peched, Money, Nationals and Smooth Riders.
