Sam’s Kryptonite ties series in WNBL finals

Team Sam’s Kryptonite wasted no time as they tied the series after beating team Money, 68-46 in Game Two of their best of three championship series for the 2013 Surangel and Sons Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) played Wednesday night at the Palau National gym.

The first quarter was a neck-top-neck battle as both teams engaged in a shoot out with Sam’s Kryptonite taking a 17-14 lead. Then they spurted a 19-10 run to close the first half with a 36-24 lead.

From there, Sam’s Kryptonite dominated the game as they went all the way to win the game and force a winner take all Game Three. Mahelani Adelbai sizzled for 19 points as teammate Sarabeth Ksano chipped in 16 while Sesengel finished the game with 12 for team Money as they go back to the drawing boards.

In the consolation game, team Palau 19 and Under team defeated Peched, 77-35 with four of its players finishing in double digits. Tint and Sarabeth Ksano finished with identical 13 as Deureng Misech and Risong Chokai tallied 11 and 10, respectively.

A total of six teams are seeing action in the tournament namely Odasangel Islanders, Kryptonite, Peched, Money, Nationals and Smooth Riders.
