Money enters WNBL finals

Team Money showed they meant business as they went on to beat Peched, 74-56 to take the first seat in the finals of the 2013 Surangel and Sons Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) at the Palau National gym.

Money dismantled Peched’s defense in the fourth as they went on to take a 25-16 run enough to dispose of their opponents and move on to the finals. Tara Tamakong led the onslaught for team Money with 22 as Sesengel added 21.

On the other hand, Danielle tallied 20 as she topscored for Peched on the losing end as they will fight for the consolation game.

With Money taking the finals seat, they will await the winner of the Sam’s Kryptonite-Team Palau 19 and Under match.

The consolation game will be played tonight at 7:30 p.m. while Game One of the finals is set on Monday at 6 p.m.

In other games, Peched won over Odesangel Islanders, 59-55; and Peched bested Smooth Riders, 20-0.

A total of six teams are seeing action in the tournament namely Odasangel Islanders, Kryptonite, Peched, Money, Nationals and Smooth Riders.
