Breakers escape Stingers, 77-75 in IP&E NBL 2013

Team Breakers held on with their defense as they managed to escape with a 77-75 victory over the Neco Marine Stingers, Wednesday night in the ongoing 2013 season of the Shell IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) played at the Palau National gym.

The game was tight as both teams finished the opening canto with the score tied at 20-all. In the second quarter, the Breakers managed to outscore the Stingers with a 19-17 run to take a 39-37 lead.

The Breakers continued their run in the second half of play as their defense hold on till the final sound of the buzzer for the win. Masao Umedip led the charge for the Breakers with 21 as teammate Joey Sumor added 19.

On the other hand, Ziske Asanuma topscored for the Stingers with 24 on the losing end.

In other games, FR Spoilers won over Idid Airwaves, 94-76; WCC Hammers beat Idid Airwaves, 91-83; Breakers defeated 4x4 Wheelers, 62-56.
