National 17 and Under on a winning skid in IP&E ABL

Nationals 17 and Under squad is on a winning roll as they went on to beat team Rivals, 76-52 Wednesday night in the ongoing elimination round of the IP&E Amateur Basketball League at the Palau National gym.

The National 17 and Under showed youth advantage and speed as they went on to establish a 29-18 lead at the end of the first half. From there, the Nationals romped away with the win behind Marvic Ngchar who finished with 24 points while Ody Yalap tallied 13 for the Rivals on the losing end.

The win is the third for the Nationals for the week as they started their winning run last January 10 when they beat the Cardinals via 84-62 and then followed it up with a win against the Ranchers last January 14 with a 70-61 count.

In other games, Melngoes won over Mesang Red Storm, 77-75; Ranchers drubbed Peches, 61-36; Breakers routed the Cardinals, 95-75; Melwert defeated Papago Smooth, 69-67; Ksau Imaging Solutions bested Melekeok Salty Boys, 75-60; and PCC Mesekiu outscored Peches, 78-63.

Games resume tonight with Stingers versus Melngoes at 6 p.m. followed by the Peches-Airwaves tussle at 7:30 p.m. Monday night games will feature Melwert against Aimeliik Rainers at 6 p.m. as Bullets meet Papago Smooth at 7:30 p.m.
