PMA, PHS score 2nd win in ISL Boys varsity hoopfest

Team Palau Mission Academy (PMA) Warriors and Emmaus High School (EHS) Knights maintained their winning ways as they defeated their respective rivals in the ongoing 2012 Inter-School League (ISL) Boys varsity basketball league.

The PMA Warriors defended their turf as they won over the visiting Mindszenty High School (MHS) Cardinals, 72-39. After taking a 21-4 lead in the opening quarter, the Warriors went on a shooting spree as they unloaded a 17-9 run to close the first half at 38-13.

From there, the Warriors made sure that they would defend their home court as Marvic Ngchar finished the game with 30 while his dynamic partner Raddison Dorado chipped in 21 as they sport a 2-1 win-loss record.

On the other hand, Albis topscored for the Cardinals with 9 markers as they suffered their second setback for a 0-2 count in the team standings.

In another game, Palau High School (PHS) Spiders held on their defense to beat Emmaus High School (EHS) Knights, 67-61. Ray Rumong finished the game with 21 points enough to also nail their second win to also sport a 2-1 tally.

Korey Kingich topscored for the Knights with 23 baskets as they absorbed their first lost to also take a 2-1 card.

Games will resume today with Belau Modekngei School (BMS) Awright taking on PMA Warriros at 4 p.m. at the SDA gym while games on Monday will have BMS Awright versus PHS Spiders at 4 p.m. at the Palau National gym while PMA Warriors will face PHS Bubuu also at 4 p.m. at the Spiders’ gym.
