Team Palau High School (PHS) Spiders scored their second win at the expense of Emmaus High School team A, 40-34 in the ongoing elimination round of the 2012 Inter-School League (ISL) Junior boys basketball league played at the Palau National gym.

PHS Spiders’ Swingly and Shawn led the scoring as they both finished the game with identical 10 points, respectively as they now sport a 2-1 win-loss record in Pool A in the team standings.

On the other hand, Libat Hideo and Telbang Teliu fueled the scoring for EHS A with 8 and 7 markers, respectively but did not get any scoring support from their crew as they take their first lost for a 1-1 tally.

In other games, PMA A won over PHS Bubuu, 20-0; PHS Tarantula drubbed MHS A, 126-27; and EHS B defeated PMA A, 72-50.

Bracketed in Pool A are PHS Tarantula, MHS team A, EHS team A, PMA team B and PHS Spiders while Pool B is composed of PMA team A, Emmaus High School team B, Palau High School Bubuu, BMS and Mindszenty High School team B.

Top two teams at the end of the elimination round will move to the play offs and organizers remind all teams that fighting will cause expulsion from the tournament, which is supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF).  By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
