Kabong drubs Surangel Kings, 114-90

Team Kabong notched its eight win as they drubbed cellar dweller Surangel Kings, 114-90, Wednesday night in the ongoing 2012 season of the IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) at the Palau National gym.

Kabong opened the game on a high note as they took on an early lead at 26-19 in the first quarter and continued their roll as they closed the first half with a 49-40 advantage. Kabong broke wide the game as they outpaced Surangel Kings in the third canto with a 32-17 output and established a commanding 81-57 lead.

From there, Kabong never looked back as they sailed for the win and sport an 8-10 win-loss tally in the team standings as Jason Seid led the scoring chores with 36 points while teammates Armando Canseco and Stephen Urmangoy added 24 and 20 points, in that order.

With the loss, Surangel Kings continues to remain in the cellar with a 1-18 count despite the 35 point performance from Nico Hinoza.

In other games, FR Spoilers defeated Islanders, 85-83; Mercury Optimax outclassed Aqua Smooth, 87-77; Peched Raw downs National 17 and Under, 92-72; Peched Raw humbles FR Spoilers, 96-94; and 4x4 Wheelers won over Kabong, 77-69.

Games will resume tonight with Peched Raw versus 4x4 Wheelers at 6 p.m. as Islanders will meet Nationals 17 and Under at 7:30 p.m. while Meda will face Kabong in the main game at 9 p.m.

Team officials and coaches are reminded that there will be a meeting on June 25, 11:30 a.m. at the Palau National gym. Attendance is a must.
