Four games set to end FBL 1st round

Four games will be featured this Sunday that will mark the end of the first round of the 2012 season of the Filipino Basketball League at the Palau National gym.

Sporting a 4-3 win-loss card, team Choppers aims to collect its fifth win as they play Hanpa Cardinals (1-6) in the curtain raiser at 11 a.m. The Choppers are hoping to snap a two game losing streak as they will rely on the team of PJ Esguerra, Nelson Dupalco, Erwin Gonzalgo, Eric Dedeles and Jelson Talavera while the Cardinals will parade Francis and Raymund Tan, Dennis Gonzales, Nhey Quito and George Bondoc.

On the other hand, after their hard earned victory last Sunday, the Ilocandia Bulls hopes to continue with their run as they will face Western Union in the main game at 3:30 p.m.

Also taking a 4-3 record, the Bulls will rely on the team of Raul Osias, Jason Tabuyo, Jun Villena, Joeger Supnet, Jaime Velasco and Ryan Cacho while Western Union (6-1) bids to close its first round campaign with a bang as they will be led by Bong Alambra, Erwin Senadre, Emerson Patenia, Medel Cuyugan and Janno Toquero.

Other games set this Sunday include MJ Rangers versus Surangel and Sons at 12:30 p.m. as Ocean View will meet FR Spoilers at 2 p.m. for the Masters League.   By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
