Toribiong, Etpison Cup, TFCP supports team Palau to MYBT 17 and Under
President Johnson Toribiong, Etpison Cup and The Filipino Community in Palau (TFCP) showed their support to Team Palau which will see action in the upcoming men’s and women’s 17 and Under Western Division of the Micronesia Youth Basketball Tournament which will be held in CNMI from May 21 to 26.
President Toribiong and the Etpison Cup each donated $500 while the TFCP gave $150. Other supporters of the team include Palau Shipping ($1,000); Surangel and Sons ($1,000); and Palau Royal Resort ($100).
The team will be coached by Ziske Asanuma with Jose Meltel as assistant coach. It is composed of RB Dorado, Marvic Ngchar, Ray Rdialul, Luke Wilter, Cullen Carlson, Shonty Ubedei, Medermel Yaoch, O’brein Ngemaes, Edward Baysa, Tavon Borja, Cody Rorer and Keene Isao.
The team is set to leave on May 19 in time for the technical meeting and a day of practice before the start of the competition. Aside from Palau, also seeing action are teams from Guam and host CNMI. By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
