4x4 Wheelers enter ABL finals

Team 4x4 Wheelers barged their way into the finals after scoring a come from behind victory over Aqua Smooth, 76-71 Friday night in Game Two of their best of three semifinals series in the ongoing 2012 season of the IP&E Amateur Basketball League (ABL) at the Palau National gym.

Down 33-36 at the end of the first half, 4x4 Wheelers kept their pace as they managed to cut the lead in the third quarter 54-55. Then 4x4 Wheelers made their move in the final canto as the sink Aqua Smooth with a 22-16 output to nail the win and close their series with a 2-0 count.

Merei Ise topscored for 4x4 Wheelers with 18 points while teammate Sunshine Soalablai added 16 while Chris Tangunan led Aqua Smooth with 20 on the losing end.

With the win, 4x4 Wheelers will face FR Spoilers for the championship series which is a best of three format while Aqua Smooth will meet Kabong for the consolation game.

Game One of the finals is still playing as of this writing while Game Two will be tomorrow at 7 p.m. and Game Three, if necessary, will be on Friday also at 7 p.m.
