PMA A wins ISL Boys Senior title

Proving size and speed does not matter, Palau Mission Academy (PMA) A Warrior went on to beat Palau High School (PHS) Spiders, 72-61 to win the championship crown of the  2011 Inter-School League (ISL) senior varsity boy’s basketball league title at the Palau National gym.

The Warriors established a 20-11 lead at the opening tip off of the game and then secured the first half with a 32-23 lead. The Warriors continued their domination in the third quarter where they outscored the Spiders with a 29-19 out put to establish their biggest lead at 61-42.

From there, the Warriors never looked back as they went all the way to win the game and bring home the championship trophy. Jason led the charge for the Warriors with 15 points while RB Dorado and Marvic Ngchar added 14 and 10, respectively.

The Spiders fought hard to come back into the game, but fell short as the settled for second place honors with Chevron leading them in the scoring department with 14.

In the consolation game, Mindszenty High School (MHS) Cardinals won over Emmaus High School (EHS) Squires, 87-86.

Winners were awarded with trophies immediately after the game. The tournament is supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF).  By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
