Spoilers, Rangers try to wrap up series

Team Spoilers and Mam’l Divers Rangers will try to wrap up their series and seek a spot in the finals when they take on separate rivals, Sunday in the Final Four of the 2011 Filipino Basketball League (FBL) at the Palau National gym.

The Spoilers, which took Game One of their best of three semifinals series beating the Ilocandia Bulls, 128-112, seeks a repeat performance when they collide anew at 2:30 p.m.

The Spoilers, who are itching to bring back its glory days, will be led by its team composed of Michael Bombita, Leonilo Gonzales, Aries Echanova, Mark Pagayanan and George Bernardo while the Bulls will be powered by Dennis Castro, Raul Osias, Joeger Supnet, Jun Villena and Hasidrie Mangulamas.

On the other hand, Mam’l Divers Rangers, which beat defending champion Western Union in Game One via 80-71, aims to get a shot in the finals when they face off again in the opening game at 1 p.m.

Rangers will have the brother tandem of Jay and Joemar Naguit, Mike Guevarra, Nico Hinoza and veteran skipper Jimmy Domingo while Western Union will bank on the performances of Erwin Senadre, Emerson Patenia, Medel Cuyugan, Sonny Jacinto and Erwin Igamen.

Winners will advance to the best of three championship series while the losers will battle for third place honors.
