ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS - GIRL’S SEMI FINALS

The KES Stars have been the surprise package of the league this year and with National point guard Sese Ketebengang as their coach have benefited from her experience. Playing solid and aggressive man to man defence they have been able to restrict their opposition each game to have just 72 points scored against them throughout the rounds. With diminitive point guard Mahealani Adelbai controlling the game with her passing and scoring the Stars look to be favorites to win the title.

Last year’s second placed SDA Queens have put in solid performances on the back of aggressive defence and great offensive rebounding through their big players in Vaidil Uherbelau and Ngeyaoi Rechelluul. Coached by American teacher, Corey Johnson, the Queens will need to play at their best to beat the MES Lady Dolphins to make the final again. In their game against the Lady Dolphins during the rounds the Queens were lucky to hang onto a 2 point win. With the really aggressive play of Lady Dolphins Talika Raikadroka and the good ball handling skills of guard Sarabeth Ksano, MES could again force their way into the final. This will be a great semi to watch.

The GBH Smuuch is much undermanned this year having lost their better players to high school and will need to build again to be competitive next year. They will struggle against the Stars in today’s semi final but as they are getting better with every game they are in with a chance.
