The Guam Basketball Confederation announces that there will be open 
tryouts for the Men's and Women's National Basketball teams in 
preparation of the Pacific Games that will be held in New Caledonia 
during the dates of late August and early September, 2011.  The 
Pacific Games are the regions premier sporting competition with teams 
from the countries of New Caledonia, Fiji, Tahiti, American Samoa, 
Papua New Guinea, Western Samoa, the Solomon Islands, CNMI, Cook 
Islands, Vanuatu, and Kiribati participating. Qualification 
requirements for the Pacific Games are that the Players must have at a 
minimum 5 years residency on Guam.   All current, former, or potential 
players interested in participating are encouraged to try out. 
(Including all Local, Military, Off-island, Temporary employees, and 
Temporary residents that meet the above 5 year residency requirement.)

Tryouts will be held on November 29th thru December 1st, 2010 at the 
UOG Field house.  20 Man Team Rosters at tryouts will be selected with 
subsequent cuts to 12 for the Pacific Games.  Selection to the 
National team will require a commitment for the remainder of the 
2010/2011 year in any and all Basketball leagues, tournaments and
