EASY TO GET POINTS !
This annual inter-parish competition had to be postponed from its normal date in August due to the priority given to the staging of the biennial Inter-Island Championships. Since the I-Kiribati community is largely Christian and more than 50% Catholic, there was high participation in this multi-sport event. To help their parish teams, a number of the top athletes gave their time and effort last Wednesday - a very HOT day ! Mostly they did not have to be at their best to win and get good points. Whether this was a good part of their preparation for OAA and the Grand Prix is debatable, but once asked their assistance was inevitable !
LIMITED PROGRAMME.
In order to ensure its completion in the limited time-frame, the programme was limited. A summary of the results is below.
