Perth Glory ended Sorrento's season in what proved to be Jamie Harnwell's final game as Gulls head coach with a 3-1 Top Four Cup win after extra-time at Percy Doyle Reserve.

Sorrento announced Harnwell's departure after the match, ending a 10-year stint back at the club including seven as head coach.

Glory will now face Floreat Athena on Tuesday night at E&D Litis Stadium for a place in next week's final, where hosts Perth SC await. 

Glory had to come from behind after Sorrento's Chris Jackson's low shot found the net on 34 minutes. The striker celebrated by taking a T-shirt from somebody behind the goal and holding it aloft to show a 'DH7' message in support of ECU Joondalup's Danny Hodgson, who remains in a critical condition in hospital following an incident last week.

The lead lasted seven minutes as Adam Zimarino's left-footed strike was spilled by Sorrento keeper Connor Campbell and Joshua Anasmo followed in to level.

After the break, the game opened up significantly. Jordan Brown's header crashed off the underside of the Glory bar and away to safety, before Cameron Cook bundled Jackson's on-target effort around the corner.

Glory also threatened. Gio Colli's free-kick was palmed away by Campbell and Zimarino hit the side netting befoe extra-time was required.

Glory needed just three minutes of the extra period to hit the front, as substitute Tyler Vecchio reached the byline and crossed for Charlie Leech to head home.

Chris Jackson's spectacular volley beat Cook soon after, but the offside flag ruled it out, before Colli's drive was saved by Cook and Leech was then denied by the assistant referee in a frantic period.

But Zimarino calmed things down for Glory when he received William Formston's pass and lashed across Campbell for the sealing moment.

Glory then saw out the second period of extra time, which saw Jackson red-carded late on. They are now one game from a first Top Four Cup final appearance since 2018.

Standing in Glory's way will be Floreat, who won't need reminding that their 12-game unbeaten start to the league season ended at the hands of Tuesday's opponents.

On Saturday, Floreat were unable to prevent Perth SC booking their spot in a fourth Top Four Cup final in six years as the Azzurri won 4-0.

Ramon Falzon's side played this one at Inglewood with Dorrien Gardens unavailable, but that didn't deter the champions as Cameron Teece marked his return to the Azzurri from Melbourne with a brace.

Calvin Whitney crashed home the opener on eight minutes, before Teece lobbed in a second for Perth with Theo Sarris off his line.

Teece then headed in Whitney's corner for a third in the second period and Yagoub Mustafa made it four late on as Perth advanced to a home final this Saturday.

- Bayswater City are in the final of the NPLWA - Men's U20 Top Four Cup thanks to a 3-1 victory over Perth Glory at Inglewood Stadium. Two first-half goals from Daniel Katz had Bayswater 2-0 up at the interval. Joseph Hobson pulled a goal back for Glory with a brilliant free-kick, only for City to seal the win thanks to Aleksandar Krusaroski.

League champions Glory get a second bite of the cherry with a preliminary final against Floreat Athena, who downed Perth SC 1-0. Ayouba Kanneh headed the only goal in the second half. 

In the U18 Top Four Cup, Joseph Teixeira scored a stoppage-time winner for Inglewood United against Bayswater to secure his side a place in Saturday's final. The game finished 1-0.

Bayswater now go up against Perth SC, who reached the preliminary final thanks to a penalty-shoot-out win over Perth Glory after their semi-final finished goalless.
