About Us

The Shooters Basketball Club Incorporated is a community based, volunteer run, incorporated association focused on promoting the game of basketball, in particular junior domestic basketball, in the City of Darebin (Melbourne, Victoria), and surrounding, areas.

From our Rules of Association, the purposes of the association are —

  1. to promote, develop and encourage participation in community activities, particularly sport, with the main emphasis on basketball, in the City of Darebin and surrounding areas;

  2. to support the formation of, and help recruit players for, predominantly junior domestic, basketball teams;

  3. to organise training venues and facilities as necessary for the club teams;

  4. to appoint, and support the development of, coaches for the club teams;

  5. to develop the club identity, and promote awareness of the club in the City of Darebin and surrounding areas;

  6. to support, financially or otherwise, any activities designed to achieve the above purposes, as determined by the committee of management.

We enter junior teams into the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA) competition. Games are played on Saturdays from 8.30am to 6.30pm, depending on age group and other factors. Our home games are played at Thornbury High School (THS) in the morning and Narrandjeri Stadium (NS) in the afternoon.

As of the 2023 Winter season, the club has 36 junior domestic teams with a total of around 295 junior players, both boys and girls.

The club runs training sessions at multiple venues, including Narrandjeri Stadium (map), Pender's Grove Primary School (map), Thornbury High School (map) and Fairfield Primary School (map), from Monday to Friday, starting as early as 4:30pm and finishing as late as 9:30pm.
