Who is eligible for the scholarship?
This scholarship is available to young people between the ages of 16 and 25.
Up to two scholarships per year will be set aside for retired Mid South Eastern Football League players
The number of scholarships awarded will be at the discretion of the Mid South Eastern Football Board
What does the scholarship cover?
Incidental study costs (text books or equipment)
Travel allowance and costs to complete the required training modules
Assistance with training modules
Allocated mentor to support recipient during the scholarship period
MSEFL Umpire Uniform costs will be meet by the League.
Terms and conditions
The Scholarship year will be from 1 November to 31 October
Recipients may receive up to $2,500 on such terms and conditions the Mid South Eastern Football Board may, in its absolute discretion, deem appropriate.
Recipients will be responsible to the MSEFL President and Umpires Director
Required to attend weekly training sessions
Required to attend specific training sessions with the Umpires Director as directed
The scholarship holder will be required to meet key performance indicators and scholarship payments will be structured to reflect these as follows:
$300 to be provided on acceptance of scholarship and successful completion of the online AFL Umpire introductory course
$200 to be provided after umpiring 5 junior games within the Mid South Eastern Football League and completion of SANFL Basic Umpiring Course
$500 after umpiring 30 games at any level within the Mid South Eastern Football League and having attained Level 1 Accreditation.
$500 after umpiring 45 games at any level within the Mid South Eastern Football League
$500 after umpiring 60 games at any level within the Mid South Eastern Football League and having attained Level 2 Accreditation.
$500 after umpiring 75 games at any level within the Mid South Eastern Football League.
