This was a close game with neck and neck tries, but the final try by Cook Islands captain, Bruce Goldsworthy, was the one that won the game for the Cook Islands and 5th place in the Sevens competition. The final score was 17-12.

Solomon Islands really excelled themselves in their game against Tahiti with a score of 26-10.

New Caledonia maintained regular dominance over the newbies Wallis & Futuna. The big surprise was the first try of the tournament by Wallis & Futuna. The try scorer was Youg John Moefana, and may there be many more tries to come in other tournaments.
