SRDP Program

State Referee Development Program Policy
Country Division

During season 2012/13 SA Country Basketball Council approved the creation of a country division of the SRDP for implementation commencing season 2013/14.

The State Referee Development Program is a program aimed at aspiring young referees and gives them additional development opportunities outside of the local environment and offers a choice of pathways for advanced levels of officiating depending on the individual member goals and requirements.

The SA Country program will operate in three separate divisions within the SA Country Basketball affiliated associations region. The three regions are;

  • Northern – which includes associations within the Adelaide Plains through to Port Lincoln region and Roxby Downs
  • Central – which includes associations within the Murray Bridge/Great Southern through to Riverland regions
  • Southern – which includes associations within the Keith to Mt Gambier/Millicent region

The SRDP will become the entry level for officials wishing to be considered for selection to the following major country events;

  • Albury Junior Cup
  • National Junior Championships U14, U16, U18

The committee shall annually select twelve officials from a list of possible candidates who meet the entry level criteria.
