Following two great performances last week by both the women's & men's team in 1st Semi Final action both sides front up again next Tuesday in the Preliminary finals. The women take on Penguin & the men Burnie. We going to need all our supporters yelling & screaming so be sure to get along & try to help our teams into the BIG DANCE the following week!

OK … we’ve reached the serious end of the season!
Our women are clinging by the skin of their teeth to 4th spot just in front of Burnie. The men are sitting in 3rd spot in a torrid tussle for a possible top two finish if results over the last round go our way but also with the risk of dropping out of the top 4 if we fall away.

Our Senior NWBU teams take on Ulverstone at home on Tuesday night.
Dave Kay & the women's team sitting 4th on the ladder will be hoping for a victory over 3rd placed Ulverstone & square the ledger after they beat us in the first round. Josh & the men's team sitting on top of the ladder will be looking for a repeat effort after claiming a win in their first round clash. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!

Our men will take to the court again tonight to replay the abandoned game last Friday against Burnie. Come along & support ... it's sure to be an exciting match starting at the earlier time of 7pm with FREE ENTRY!

2018 Senior NWBU R2 V Ulverstone at Ulverstone Friday night. The club welcomes Ally Wilson's arrival & the women will be looking to score their first win of the season! The men will be eager to back up their great start with a 2nd win over the Hoppers! Hope to see you all there!

Our 2018 season gets underway this Friday 9th Feb when we play Latrobe at home. It promises to be action packed with hopefully our new giant video screen scoreboard in action. Hope to see you there!

It is with great pleasure the Somerset Heat are proud to announce the signing of Jeremee "JP" Davis for season 2018. He will be working as the club's junior development officer. JP has extensive experience in coaching, he has worked with the Atlanta Hawks NBA Cares Program(2017), Nike Elite Hoops and was a college assistant coach at Albany State University.

State League basketball action kicks off for our men's team this weekend in our stadium.

Ben Richmond completed the clean sweep of the NWBU Men's season when he added the NWBU MVP award to his 2017 collection. In an outstanding season he'd already won our club MVP & the Sportspower MVP.

The skills sessions are ideal for all junior levels wanting to improve their game with skill development and fun.

Sessions for Term 4 start on Saturday 25 October and run through until Saturday 13 December

Country Cup Selections

Teams: U18 Boys, U18 Girls, U16 Boys, U16 Girls, U14 Boys (top age only) and U14 Girls (top age only).

No cost for the trials. Last year’s trip cost $1850pp and we are endeavouring to bring this cost down slightly for next year’s trip.

Saturday 11 October:
• U18 Girls – 9.30am to 1pm – Court 3 Elphin.
• U18 Boys – 9.30am to 1pm – Court 4 Elphin.
• U16 Girls – 1pm to 4.30pm – Court 3 & 4 Elphin.
• U16 Boys – 1pm to 4.30pm – Deloraine.
Sunday 12 October:
• U20 Boys – 11.30am to 3pm – Court 3 Elphin.
• U20 Girls – 11.30am to 3pm – Court 4 Elphin.

The State Development Program (SDP) and Future Development Program (FDP) are selective programs and aim to develop the best boys and girls each region of our state. The SDP athletes are between the ages of 14 and 17 and the FDP athletes are between the ages of 10 and 13.

The programs provide a weekly training session in their region as well as a series of camps throughout the year.
