Pat's dedication and committment to junior basketball was unmatched. From the grass roots level to the elite competing at national championship level, his drive and passion was very obvious.

Sponsorship from many companies to support basketball was driven by Pat to assist players and teams to compete at various levels.

Pat travelled through out the state for many years to attend meetings, camps, trainings, etc to assist players, associations, and teams and to improve the profile of basketball.

Pat has filled every position possible in our sport of basketball. His effort and time to help others has been invaluable. His absence leaves a huge gap in our great game that cannot be replaced.

Pat was the President of the City of Clarence Basketball Association from 1991 to 2007 and from 2008 onwards he as the Vice President and Treasurer.

Pat has been the President of the Cavaliers Basketball Club since 2001.

Pat was also a Basketball Tasmania Board Member, Basketball Tasmania Competiton Commission Member and an Executive Member of the Southern Tasmanian Basketball League.

In 2008, Pat was awarded a life membership by Basketball Tasmania. He is only one of thirteen people to receive this award since Basketball Tasmania was formed in 1946. Pat is also a life member of the Southern Tasmanian Basketball League and the City of Clarence Basketball Association.

Pat started playing basketball in 1958. Since then he has coached and umpired for many years. Pat was the President of the Southern Basketball Commission from 1984 until 1989. In 1989 the Southern Basketball Commission became the Southern Basketball League and he continued his involvement as a Board Member. In 1990 Pat was reappointed the President of the now, Southern Tasmanian Basketball League. Pat's involvement with the Southern Basketball League continued as an executive committee member of the Southern Tasmanian Basketball League.

Pat has also been a board member for the National Fitness Southern Recreation Association. He was the President of the Clarence Women's Basketball Association, the Hobart Hornets and the founding President of the Hobart Hurricanes and the Pirates Basketball Club.

Pat will be greatly missed by all levels of the basketball community and most of all by those of us who worked with Pat on the City of Clarence Basketball Association.

Pat, gone but never forgotten.
