History

The women-only Netball competition will see some of the world's best teams battling for gold in one of the core sports of Commonwealth Games competition.

One gold medal will be on offer to the 12 nations competing across the eight days of  preliminary and classification matches at the State Netball Hockey Centre, before the finals showdown at the Multi Purpose Venue (Melbourne Park).

The competition will be conducted according to the rules of the International Federation of Netball Associations (IFNA) and consists of two pools of six teams playing each other in a round-robin tournament, with the two leading teams in each pool advancing to the finals.
