Anna Pouhila 7th in Shot Put
Anna Pohila of Tonga continued her good progress in international athletics with a seventh placed finish at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
Putting out a 16.43m on her first throw, she failed to improve on this in subsequent efforts settling for 7th.

Pacific Islands have 6 Entrants in 400m
Oceania has 6 runners in the heats of the 400m men's event who will be competing Monday 20 March.
They are Moses Kamut and Arnold Sorina of Vanuatu, Chris Walasi of Solomons, Finau Waisea, Waqairadovu Foy and Verekauta Niko of Fiji.

Soko Solonqiqi Triple Jump
Sala Soloqiqi competed in the Triple Jump and discovered the reality of dealing with crowd and Occasion pressure.
While unable to produce a P.B. she benefited from the experience of jumping in major competition.
Her Best effort was 11.61m

PNG's KOMPAON 4th IN 200m EAD T46 FINAL
PNG's Star EAD Athlete, Francis Kompaon came 4th in the Final of the 200m T46 Final with a time of 23.83.
This was 0.73secs less than his personal best.
First was Australia's Francis Heath.

BOINO 6th IN 400m HURDLES SEMIFINAL 1
PNG's Mowen Boino has come 6th out of 8 in the Men's 400m Hurdles Semi-finals.

PNG's KOIME Clocks Personal Best
PNG's Koime Mae was the only female Oceania islander to feature the Commonwealth Games 200m and with a time of 24.20, she clocked a personal best.

PNG EAD Athlete Qualifies
PNG's EAD Athlete, Kompaon Francis qualified for the 2nd round of the Men's 200m EAD T46 with time of 23.50 today Wednesday 22 March.
The Australian athlete who came first, Francis Heath, clocked 22.80 followed by Nigerian, Lanshima Vitalis with 22.95.

The P.N.G National, Mowen Boino makes it into the Semifinal of the 400m huddles after coming third in his heat.P.N.G is flying high again in MCG.

Pacific Scholarship Athletes Take Part in QBR
Monday, 23rd Jan 2006
Six current scholarship athletes plus athletes from Fiji, today took part in the Queens Baton Relay as it made its journey accross the world to Melbourne for the start of the Commonwealth Games on 15th March 2006. Today was the final leg of the relay through New Zealand, before it crosses the Tasman this evening to start its journey around Australia.

National Record for Tereapii Tapoki

In her first Discus Throw competition of 2006, Tereapii Tapoki broke her own Cook Islands National Record with a winning throw of 55.05m at the HOT Meet at Ericsson Stadium in Auckland today.

Setefano Mika Sets another National Record

HPTC - Oceania IAAF Scholarship athlete Setefano Mika today set his second Samoa National Record in the space of three days. Competing in the NorthSport Classic Meeting at Sovereign Stadium, the home track of the HPTC - Oceania, Setefano ran 3:58.43 over 1500m. This was the first time that Setefano had run under 4 minutes for 1500m.
