The MGFNL is proud to announce it best and fairest players for season 2021.
The official count for all grades of football and netball was streamed through facebook and youtube on Friday night the 29th of October.
The presentation included videos supplied by clubs acknowledging the hard work and long hours by so many officials, volunteers, players, coaches and sponsors in the most trying of circumstances.
The overriding theme was the enjoyment and satisfaction every club felt in being a part of the new thirteen team competition and how much they are looking forward to renewing their newly formed rivalries and friendships in 2022.
MGFNL Senior Football winner was:
Hill End’s Amburpa Uliando
A clear winner over Fosters Brendan Neville and Mirboo North’s Liam Nash.
Amburpa Uliand “Id just like to say how happy I was with the season despite not getting to play a finals campaign. It was really good to finish on top, I guess is a credit coach Mike, the support from the club and awesome team mates. It was really good to play new sides from the Alberton League, but I’m really looking forward to next season.”
MGFNL A Grade Netball winner was
Yinnars Skye McDonald
From second placed Danni Dunn from Morwell East and Stony Creek’s Rebecca Browne in third.
Skye McDonald “we had a very successful season across the board between football and netball, with all of our teams finishing in the top six and three of our teams going through undefeated and finishing on top which is an amazing result. Yinnar is a welcoming supportive, family orientated club and I’m really proud of being a part of Yinnar. It was a shame that our season was cut short but that’s just the way it is and we look forward to coming back bigger and stronger next year.
