"A Game for Tarkyn"
Friday the 26th of March, the Somerset Basketball Club will host a memorial game for the late Tarkyn Whitehouse who was a beloved member of the basketball community. The game will be held against the Burnie Basketball Association. We have joined forces with SPEAK UP Stay ChatTY to raise much needed awareness and funds for mental health and youth suicide prevention in Tasmania.more

Preliminary Finals

Following two great performances last week by both the women's & men's team in 1st Semi Final action both sides front up again next Tuesday in the Preliminary finals. The women take on Penguin & the men Burnie. We going to need all our supporters yelling & screaming so be sure to get along & try to help our teams into the BIG DANCE the following week!more


OK … we’ve reached the serious end of the season!
Our women are clinging by the skin of their teeth to 4th spot just in front of Burnie. The men are sitting in 3rd spot in a torrid tussle for a possible top two finish if results over the last round go our way but also with the risk of dropping out of the top 4 if we fall away.more

Our Senior NWBU teams take on Ulverstone at home on Tuesday night.
Dave Kay & the women's team sitting 4th on the ladder will be hoping for a victory over 3rd placed Ulverstone & square the ledger after they beat us in the first round. Josh & the men's team sitting on top of the ladder will be looking for a repeat effort after claiming a win in their first round clash. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!more

Meet Jeremee JP Davis our import for 2018

It is with great pleasure the Somerset Heat are proud to announce the signing of Jeremee "JP" Davis for season 2018. He will be working as the club's junior development officer. JP has extensive experience in coaching, he has worked with the Atlanta Hawks NBA Cares Program(2017), Nike Elite Hoops and was a college assistant coach at Albany State University.more

The skills sessions are ideal for all junior levels wanting to improve their game with skill development and fun.

Sessions for Term 4 start on Saturday 25 October and run through until Saturday 13 Decembermore

SDP and FDP Trials for the next 12 month program

The State Development Program (SDP) and Future Development Program (FDP) are selective programs and aim to develop the best boys and girls each region of our state. The SDP athletes are between the ages of 14 and 17 and the FDP athletes are between the ages of 10 and 13.

The programs provide a weekly training session in their region as well as a series of camps throughout the year.more
