Gold Coast City have returned to the top of the PS4 NPL Queensland ladder with a 4-1 victory over Brisbane Roar Youth on Saturday night.
Roman Hoffman opened the scoring from distance after just finished four minutes before Finn Beakhurst levelled proceedings 13 minutes later.
The two sides traded chances for the rest of the first half with the Young Roar coming closest to finding a go-ahead goal.
It took the visitors less than a minute after the restart to take the lead through Jarrod Kyle before Sam Smith handed his side some breathing space minutes later.
The Young Roar were handed a lifeline when Gold Coast were reduced to ten-men as Benjamin Lyvidikos picked up a second yellow card with well over half hour to play.
The hosts couldn't capitalise and City managed to add a fourth despite the deficit in manpower. Substitute Curtis Stollery sewed up the points for Gold Coast with 20 minutes remaining.
The win sets up an enticing contest with Olympic FC next Saturday night for Gold Coast while the Roar travel north to face Northern Fury.
