7- Connor Pettersson
Club: Manly-Warringah
Previous: Manly-Warringah (2007), Ainslie (2008-09), Southport (2010-11), Manly-Warringah (2012-)
Age: 24
Position: Midfield
Analysis:
Many would be vouching for Pettersson to feature in the top three of this list, and the same debate definitely took place amongst the panel such is the class of the versatile midfielder.
His return to the Wolves/GIANTS den in 2012 after four years playing in Canberra and the Gold Coast as a player/assistant coach coincided with Manly-Warringah’s second Premiership in as many years (an unbeaten season at that). The talented local is a well-known name around the Club, having dominated the Under 18 competition in 2006-07 and played a key role in the Division 1 premiership in 2007 as a 17 year-old.
Con is well known around the club as a smart and classy midfielder whose ability to read the game is second to none.
He has a glittering CV including representation in Senior Representative sides, Team of the Year, being named Best on Ground in the 2012 Grand Final- and should feature heavily amongst the umpires votes this year given his great form to date.
