10- Taylor Williamson
Club: Western Suburbs
Previous: Clarence (Tasmanian FL) 2011-13
Age: 23
Position: Full-Forward
Analysis:
Williamson has made an immediate impression in the AFL Sydney competition. Averaging over two goals a game pushing up the ground as an agile forward, Williamson is particularly strong overhead despite already attracting the opposition’s best defender.
His introduction has coincided with the Magpies spurn in form, so much so they will play finals in 2014 after a long layoff.
He has strong pedigree having spent the last three years in the premier Tasmanian competition where he played 37 games.
Despite his young age, his leadership abilities are noted and he was made captain of the AFL Sydney Representative squad that defeated AFL Canberra last month.
The Magpies chances will largely hinge on Williamson’s form and fitness in the back half of the season.
