Going into this game with some confidence, we were sluggish early. Manning up was not up to our expected standard and the Ivanhoe players gained confidence running forward and took a lead into quarter time. Midway through the second quarter, our teamwork started to click and from then to three quarter time, the boys were awesome.
Darcy was clearly best on ground and deserved his award from the Ivanhoe coach. Will G played exactly to plan, staying deep and showing his class by finishing with 3 goals. Aaron’s improvement was obvious with both his effort in winning a hard ball and running to support his team mates.
Another strong performance from Ollie, Lachlan Perillo, Nelson and James who played good games through the midfield, Tom and Blake were strong down back and Conor and Antonio showed plenty of pace.
Ivanhoe continued to compete well in the final quarter but we finished strongly and enjoyed a second victory.
Now the grading games are over, our competition becomes a bit more even and we look forward to the challenges each week.
