Despite a number of players still being unavailable for Round 2 footy, the Bulldogs should announce strong squads for the Black Diamond Cup, First Division and Under 18 games.
The Black Diamond Cup side plays at Nelson Bay whilst the other two grades play at Singleton. Such a draw is usually a nightmare for travelling sides but the Doggies should cope well.
Still unavailable for the top side are David Grigg and Luke Govan, whilst an injury cloud still surrounds key forward Brad Williams. To balance this, Captain Albert Kobe returns to the side this weekend after suspension and small forward Sam Procter makes his debut for the club. The boys are full of confidence, however need to be at their best to ensure a victory over the Nelson Bay side which is always difficult to beat at home.
The First Division team has picked up some new players during the week and numbers are quite good. Solid performances last week from players such as Brad Petherbridge and John McGregor need to be repeated this weekend as Singleton will be rearing to go after a good win in the first round.
The Under 18's boast plenty of talent but numbers were a bit thin last week. Their big win over Wyong was based on a total team effort and some Under 16's backing up. The same will need to occur again against a Singleton team which seems to boast some good talent.
Good luck to all Bulldogs competing on the weekend.
