Grand River Gargoyles of Guelph,Kitchener,Waterloo, Cambridge and region took to U of Toronto Scarborough Campus to take on the reigning Premiers (League Champions) on a hot Saturday Afternoon vs the Broadview Hawks. Both sides fielded almost their strongest squad so the game was full of high skills and intensity. Broadview took a quick lead in the first, though unable to really put any distance between the two clubs by end of the first quarter. Hawks put together three very quick goals under 2 minutes mid-way through the second quarter but sloppy play and fouls allowed the Gargoyles to stay in it. A little run of their own in the 3rd put Grand River ahead on the score board for the first time in the third but benches on both sides were down as the Gargoyle star player Tyson Dyer got knocked out of the game. With two minutes left in the match, Broadview put themselves up for good and took home a very tight and tough game.
