This coming Sunday at Colonel Samuel Smith Park in Toronto, the Hamilton Wildcats Women's squad will be taking on the talented Ottawa Lady Swans in the OAFL Women's Semi-Final; with the winner headed to the 2012 Grand Final v the High Park Lady Demons. Despite the Swans taking both games v the Wildcats during the regular season, Hamilton looked much better in their 2nd meeting and with many of the players that were missing on that road trip now back for Finals, this looks to be a great Finals match-up!!!

Key Players: Hamilton - Team Captain Kendra Heil has been one of the leaders both on and off the field for the Lady Wildcats this year, as well as currently leading the Women's team in goals w/ 17 majors. Defender Candace Kwan, midfielder Danielle Comolli (10 goals) & utility players Emily Spicer, Kylie Balogh and Sam Pepper will also stand out for the Wildcats.
HAMILTON Strengths: Great overall team depth, speed and hardness for the footy have definitely helped this team win many games this year, especially early on. After starting the season with 2 big wins, the squad seemed to get a little complacent, but that has definitely been addressed. Despite only winning 1 of the final 3 games on the year, this team really looks to be playing their best footy of the season and coming into their own. There is a closeness among the girls on this team that is really something to behold, especially with their verbal & physical support around the ground. This team can not only beat you with their speed & skills, but wear you down on defense and with their offensive attack.
OTTAWA Strengths: Scoring, speed & experience. Despite the Swans not being in the OAFL much longer than the Wildcats Women's team, they have many experienced players, who were part of the Montreal Angels the last few seasons as well as many of their players already having played competitively with the Canadian National Women's Team (Northern Lights). They outscored the Wildcats 133-15 in the 2 games they've played this year, so Hamilton's defenders will definitely have their hands full; but according to sources that were at their 2nd meeting this year in Ottawa, there were times where the game looked like it could have gone either way.
2012 OAFL SEMI-FINAL Prediction: Hamilton Wildcats def. Ottawa Swans 38-37.
C'arn the WILDCATS!!!
