Unfortunately school holidays meant we only had 17 players to field against Mooroolbark, thankfully not one of the top teams. Daniel McDonald, having already played a game for the U11's, filled in admirably kicking 2 goals and giving another two away. This was an excellent performance by all the boys, in a game played in quite heavy conditions.
With Jamie out, Reuban took over the ruck duties and played the big man role to perfection. He was helped out in the middle by Fraser, Nick and Ben who all won countless hard possessions in the conditions. Tom Neuendorf was classy all day on his wing and Darcy Mangan showed his cleverness around goals, unfortunately hitting the post on two occasions. The star forward however was skipper Jordan who marked everything that came his way and kicked 7 wonderful goals in a BOG performance. The back line however was not to be outdone, with Daniel DeCesare and Alex Geilings continually turning defence into attack. Nashy, Grovesy and John Corder were as steady as always never giving their opponents a look in.
While this may have looked an easy win on the scoreboard, the guys worked really hard and played the wet weather game to perfection, always putting their body over the ball, moving it forward and continually finding team mates with precision passing and handball. The team is playing extremely well and looking forward to the challenges of the next few weeks.
