In a much improved display, the Sydney Uni WheelKings fought hard against the more experienced Brisbane Spinning Bullets before going down 83-64 in the playoff for 3rd. The undoubted highlight was young Josh Meoli having a breakout game with 20 points at 77% accuracy along with 9 rebounds.

It was always going to be tough without the presence of Koen Jansens and Keegan Oh-Chee but the Sydney Uni WheelKings put up a valiant effort against the host team Brisbane Spinning Bullets in the Minor Semi-final of the NWBL today. Falling short 85-51, the WheelKings will now play for 3rd tomorrow at 11am.

Sydney Uni WheelKings have assured themselves of a spot in the 2011 NWBL Finals with 2 terrific wins over Dandenong Rangers on the weekend. Koen Jansens made a welcome return to dominate the 88-83 and 79-73 victories.

The Sydney Uni WheelKings had 2 good wins this weekend to get their season back on track. On Saturday, they eclipsed the Thunder 68-60 and then were in devastating form today to seize an 82-56 victory.

After a convincing 60-47 victory over Canada in the semi-final of the Women`s U25 World Wheelchair Basketball Championships, Australia couldn't reproduce the same form against a very talented USA side, losing 66-39 in the gold medal game.

The Australian Women's Under 25 team secured a spot in the World Championships in Ontario with a thrilling 56-53 win over Japan this morning. They now face undefeated home favourites Canada at 9am tomorrow (Thursday) Australian EST.

Australia has beaten Mexico 56-47 today to secure a spot in the finals of the Women`s U25 2011 World Wheelchair Basketball Championships in Canada. It was a good rebound win following yesterday's disappointing 70-51 loss to the strong USA team.

WheelKings rookie Caitlin de Wit has made her international debut for Australia at the Under 25 Women's Wheelchair Basketball World Campionships in Canada. WheelKings head coach Gerry Hewson steered the team to a 57-45 victory over Great Britain in his return to international coaching.

Sydney uni WheelKings put in a shocker today going down to the RSL Brisbane Spinning Bullets for the second time this weekend. The 90-44 scoreline is amongst the team's worst losses in the past 2 seasons.

Last year's grand finalists Wollongong Roller Hawks were far too good for Sydney Uni today, winning easily 103-55 at the Sydney University Sports and Aquatic Centre. The WheelKings were missing their 2 leading scorers and rebounders, Koen Jansens and CJ Grogan, and Coach Hewson was also away.

The WheelKings faced the Razorbacks for the second time this weekend but came up short, eventually losing 80-57. Several players stepped up the task was too great without star forward Koen Jansens who dominated yesterday's match with 41 points.
