This was disappointing because it looked like as good a team that the Tigers had been able to field for weeks and these were the lesser of the opponents that we have faced all year. But it was dismal effort as a team and from some individuals as well.
The Pumas were well balanced and approached their work as if they were a top team. In contrast the tigers never got out of first gear and consequently were well beaten on the day.
Score:
Mayne Tigers 1 – 0 2 – 0 4 – 0 5 – 0 30
Springwood 5 – 3 10 – 9 14 – 13 21 – 18 144
Best:
Tom Ditchburn – dropped back from Seniors and immediately staked a claim for a return in a top display
Brad Twartz – never stopped trying in the face of the onslaught from mid-field
Dave Collings – was busy all day and got plenty of ball
Keane White – was effective with his possession and often the go to from the centre
Sam Ditchburn – competed well in all the roles the coach asked him to do.
Dave Ditchburn – good rate of clearances from the centre
