The Mayne Tigers U18 team won for the second week in a row to provide some light to the gloom around the Tiger Den. Playing Toowoomba at home as the first game of a triple header, the young Tigers got off to a good start and had a very competitive 1st quarter against the Toowoomba Crows. They went into the first break a few points ahead.
In the 2nd tern they came out with all guns blazing and were able to put 4 goals on the board in a very good fashion to lead at half-time by a 4 gaol margin. The Tigers were working well at both ends of the ground.
The 3rd term was not so impressive up front as the Tigers managed only one point for the quarter but were able to restrict the Crows scoring and were still a couple of goals ahead at the final break.
Ina very tense and competitive final term the Crows threw everything they had at the Tigers but the backline held up well and with a great goal from Sam Gardner the Tigers were able to seal the win.
Mayne 7 â 11 â 53 to Toowoomba 5 â 8 - 38
