2020 Training and Games
2020 Training and Games
Following on from last week's email, there are many who have expressed interest in a return to training and playing in 2020.
To that end, we are submitting the required documentation to council to facilitiate this for their approval and return.
We will also be advising Football Victoria by the end of this week which teams wish to resume playing.
It looks like it will probably be a 17 week season for the Juniors and Mini Roos, with a possible start date of 28th June, concluding on 18th October - these dates are yet to be confirmed as definite.
We are still awaiting definite dates for the seniors.
Please note that before the teams can be submitted to Football Victoria, each team MUST have a Covid Safe Officer. Teams will NOT be able to resume training/games until this position in each team has been filled. Could you please talk to your team's coach and/or team manager if you are able to assist.
Basically, the role of Covid Safe Officer is someone who can maintain a register of who is attending each training session/game, i.e. players, team officials, spectators, bystanders, etc., making sure everyone is observing the appropriate social distance, ensuring the use of hand sanitiser, making sure the facilities if used are clean (only toilets), making sure people are not there if they are unwell, etc. Definitely not an onerous task.
We will be issuing documentation and guidelines to assist all teams on the requirements of playing in a Covid Safe Environment, however, please note that at this stage, the following still applies:
Groups of up to 20 people only are permitted outdoor plus a coach/instructor or the minimum number of support staff reasonably required to run the activity
* Parents or other people are required to keep a reasonable distance or will be included in the group of 20
* Maintain physical distancing of 1.5 metres wherever reasonably possible
* All activity and training must be non-contact.
* No use of communal facilities, except for toilets
* No shared equipment that touches the head or face or cannot be effectively cleaned i.e. soft materials or clothing
* Hand hygiene, frequent environmental cleaning and disinfection, use of own equipment where possible and minimise sharing of equipment.
Please note that it is a Football Victoria requirement that training can only be undertaken in any form after registration has been completed and approved.
For those interested in Saturday Skillz, at this stage, we are still not in a position to re-start. We will keep you informed. As soon as we can have this program up and running again, we will definitely do so.
