Former star player, coach and now life member Scott Corbett returned to Mayne AFC training last night almost 10 years since he led the club to within a goal of making the finals in the old QAFL.
Corbett was responding to a call during the week from senior coach Mitch Ferguson to take training and give the players an opportunity to learn from one of club’s favourite sons. The players responded well to the new drills and ideas during the hitout and will look to implement these this week against Maroochydore on Saturday. A big thank you to Scott for his efforts and we look forward to seeing more of the old boys down at training and the games during the year.
Last week we were given a lesson in wet weather football by a slick Noosa outfit who completely dominated the first half in heavy conditions. The boys managed to show more resolve and discipline in the second half before Noosa ran out winners by 12 goals.
We look forward to seeing all our supporters up at Maroochydore on Saturday in what we can guarantee will be a stronger and more committed performance than last week.
See you there
