On Sunday the Under 13’s played against Balwyn who had come down from Brown, we had played them over the last 2 years and on both occasions we just won in very hard fought games. It was very wet and slippery on the back oval with our boys taking a while to adjust to the conditions. We were able to get 2 goals at the end of the quarter to go into the break with a 16 point lead. The second quarter was much the same as the first with the ball being on the ground a lot, we had a key focal point up forward in Caleb who was able to kick 4 first half goals.
After half time, our boys played the best half of football that they have played in the time I have been coaching them. They played dry weather football and were able to outrun their opposition. Their team work and use of the football was first class. It was a delight to watch as we had winners all over the ground. Balwyn were able to kick a goal late, however, by that stage the game had blown out.
This was a fantastic 4 quarter performance and something that we should be very proud of. We look forward to the reminder of the season.
Goal – Caleb 4, Brad 3 (first game back after broken foot), Deano 2, Marcus 2, Alex H 1, Connor 1, Olly 1,
Best – Team Effort with everyone contributing
We wish Caleb and Marcus all the best as they represent our club in the Under 13 YJFL sides.
We also wish the best of Luck to Connor and Luca who will play their 50th games for the Club in Round 8.
