Despite running out 81 point winners at home on Saturday the wider Tiger community's thoughts are with young gun Tom Falconer. In the 5th minute of play Falconer was knocked senseless when in possession on the half forward flank. Unable to take his kick he was carried from the field and straight to hospital where he was later diagnosed with severe facial injuries, requiring surgery later this week. Losing Falconer and with Shaun Daly receiving a yellow card and being sidelined when remonstrating in support of the young Tiger, the team needed to regroup and hold on for the remainder of the quarter. The result was a 3 goal deficit at the first break.
After regaining their composure the boys swung into action in the second term and kicked 8 goals to 2, however lost key defender Tom O'Malley with a hamstring tear. Sam Paterson provided terrific drive out of the centre, with Jeames Gillett and Corbin Sellen dynamic up forward. It was more of the same in the second half with the Tigers capitalising on the Bombers turnovers and kept the scoreboard ticking over. Tom Ditchburn had his best game of the season along with the ever reliable Dean Hartley who enjoyed an entertaining battle with his opponent all afternoon.
With the bye this weekend the boys will welcome back a number of players from injury layoffs including the return of stalwart Luke Ferguson who arrives back this week from an extended business trip overseas.
