It took them all day to get there but with only 30 seconds on the clock PBC managed to kick the goal that put them in front claiming a pulsating 5 point victory. The Tigers were understandably gutted and left to rue a couple of defensive errors late in the final stanza. In windy conditions it was all Mayne early with Tom Falconer, Dean Hartley and Chris Patterson leading the charge and PBC a man down after a red card to Perry-Bolt.
Despite this the Lions still found an avenue to goal in the 3rd quarter kicking 5 majors, setting up a dramatic conclusion. After 3 wins on the trot in a similar situation it wasn't to be for Mayne with the Lions slamming home the winner from outside 50m. The siren sounded with Mayne in attack and PBC jubilant.
We now head to arch rivals Sandgate for what will be a huge game for the 3 grades.
