After rounding out another clinical display against Burleigh on Sat the boys had time to reflect on what might have been on the drive back down the highway. The boys ultimately fell short by one win on making the finals and perhaps finished the season as one of the form teams in the competition. Nevertheless, the harsh reality is that the side fell short a number of times against sides ranked above them on the ladder and in doing so finished in 6th position.
The 10 goal win against the Bombers gave a good insight to the year that was with Stevenson, Paterson and Murtha again prominent with the pressure skills of all players making it difficult for the opposition to score. Over the course of the year the defence has stood tall and have built an impressive platform for the side to succeed. The new look forward line created plenty of scoring opportunities and even gave the crowd something to cheer about with a few speccies. The challenge for the side now is to find further improvement over the off season to begin a serious climb into the top 5.
