Key Players: Hamilton - Team Captain Kendra Heil has been one of the leaders both on and off the field for the Lady Wildcats this year, as well as currently leading the Women's team in goals w/ 17 majors. Defender Candace Kwan, midfielder Danielle Comolli (10 goals) & utility players Emily Spicer, Kylie Balogh and Sam Pepper will also stand out for the Wildcats.
HAMILTON Strengths: Great overall team depth, speed and hardness for the footy have definitely helped this team win many games this year, especially early on. After starting the season with 2 big wins, the squad seemed to get a little complacent, but that has definitely been addressed. Despite only winning 1 of the final 3 games on the year, this team really looks to be playing their best footy of the season and coming into their own. There is a closeness among the girls on this team that is really something to behold, especially with their verbal & physical support around the ground. This team can not only beat you with their speed & skills, but wear you down on defense and with their offensive attack.
ETOBICOKE Strengths: Experience is definitely a huge key for this side, as most of the Women have been playing/training together for a couple of seasons now. Obviously all teams have rookies/new players each season, but the leadership group for the Lady Roos seems very strong and their squad are well coached. Very good footy IQ with height and great marking around the ground will definitely be a challenge for the Wildcats this weekend, as they look to head to their 2nd consecutive OAFL Women's Grand Final (2011 OAFL Women's GF Runners-up).
2012 OAFL ELIMINATION FINAL Prediction: Hamilton Wildcats def. Etobicoke Lady Roos 26-22.
C'arn the WILDCATS!!!
