Our Opponents
This week is the first game against St George for the season. We’ve had some great battles with the Dragons over the years, they were our opponents for our last senior premiership in 2007 and our last under 18s premiership in 2009.
With the Bombers having fallen over the line in our last two matches, this week presents a chance to tighten our grip on a finals berth. The Bombers are two games plus percentage ahead of St George, who are one of three teams in equal sixth spot; and if the Bombers can get a win here it would make the quest for a finals berth easier. But it won’t be easy against a St George side with plenty of emerging players who will be desperate to keep their hopes alive.
Call to Arms
This weekend is AFL Sydney’s Health Awareness Round where North Shore will once again be supporting the Cancer Council’s Call to Arms program. Players in all grades will be asked to wear yellow armbands and all supporters will be asked to make a donation to this important cause.
Online Coverage
Score updates from all games will be posted throughout the day on the North Shore website at www.northshorefc.com.au . After the game, scorecards will be posted online.
After the Game
All players, officials and supporters are invited to join us in the clubhouse after the game for a brief after-match presentation. Hear from the coaches, and the best players in each game will be named.
Back to Bears Day – Two Weeks to Go
Only two weeks till Saturday 16th July, which is Back to Bears Day. It’s a day when we’ll be honouring the tradition of the club, and many of our former champions will be returning to Gore Hill Oval for the day. This year marks the 10th, 20th and 50th anniversary of premiership triumphs for North Shore.
