Application of the Mercy Rule (By-Law 3.11)
For all U12 – U16 Div 1 matches, percentage on games with a margin of greater than ten (10) goals will be calculated as if the margin was ten (10) goals only.
The revised score will be published and goal kickers acknowledged.
The Mercy Rule does not apply in Finals Series.
The purpose of this rule is to discourage coaches from “burying teams†and chasing percentage. It fits with the philosophy of trying to develop the game and not discourage players.
